FROM SIBERIA TO TIMIȘOARA IN ORDER TO TAKE PART IN TESZT – THE EUROREGIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL TIMIȘOARA TESZT OPENS WITH „SOCIOPATH/HAMLET”

Drama Theatre „Stary Dom" from Novosibirsk will open the 12th editon of TESZT with a production directed by Andrey Prikotenko - „Sociopath/Hamlet", a fresh reading of Shakespeare's character, in line with the festival theme - HERO/ANTIHERO. During the next few days, TESZT will present shows from france, Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Germany and Romania, as well as productions of the hosting theatre: Swan Lake Revisited and Henry the 4th.

TICKETS FOR TESZT EUROREGIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL ARE ON SALE
Nine extraordinary performances will be presented during 20-26th of May at the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre for the Euroregional Theatre Festival TESZT, and tickets can be bought at the theatre’s ticket office and www.biletmaster.ro The invited theatre companies come from Novosibirsk, Grenoble, Antwerp, Ljubljana, Köln, Tatabánya and Bucharest, while the organisers will present their newest performances.

HALFTESZT – BUDGET CUTS WILL REDUCE THE PROGRAM OF THE FESTIVAL STARTING IN TEN DAYS
The Euroregional Theatre Festival Timisoara – TESZT, has reached its 12th edition and has to considerably restrain its initial programme after the Local City Council voted on the budget of Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre Timisoara. In order to maintain the continuity of the festival and preserve our relationship with spectators who believe in the TESZT spirit, we will organize a pocket-version of TESZT between the 20-26th of May, a crash tes(z)t, with damaged lights on.

„EXIT” PERFORMED IN BRUSELLS ON APRIL 24TH & 25TH
The performance „EXIT" will be presented in Brussels on April 24th and 25th following an invitation from the Fine Arts Center „Bozar". The show was coproduced by our theatre with the Ioan Slavici Classical Theatre in Arad and Sombor National Theatre in Serbia, it was fist presented in 2017 and already toured at several important festivals in Romania, Serbia and Hungary.

THE SELECTION OF THE 2019 TESZT FESTIVAL
The Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre will organize the twelfth edition of the Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara - TESZT during May 19th-26th 2019, showcasing the best performances from the region as well as rest of Europe. More than half of this year's selection comes from the open call launched by the festival for productions from Eastern Europe and the Balkans.

WORLD THEATRE DAY - MARCH 27TH
Every year the Executive Council of ITI choses an outstanding theatre personality to write the message for World Theatre Day, which is celebrated since 1962 on the 27th of March all over the world. Carlos CELDRAN from Cuba, the outstanding stage director, playwright and theatre educator, has been selected the message for 2019.

DANCE WORKSHOP FOR AN EUROPEAN PROJECT
The contemporary dance performance „Someone from Home" will open this summer, after a series of rehearsals in Linz, Sofia, Timișoara and Novi Sad. The eight dancers casted in „Someone from Home" are currently practicing in Timișoara and invite everybody to a free on Tuesday, March 5th, 9.30 p.m., in the Studio Hall of the Hungarian Theatre to waltz together.

NEW PERFORMANCE - HENRY IV

The "Csiky Gergely" Hungarian State Theatre in Timișoara is staging a famous text written by Luigi Pirandello - „Henry IV" directed by Victor Ioan Frunză, set and costume design by Adriana Grand and music composed by Cári Tibor. The performance will reunite the highly acclaimed director and set designer with the Timisoara theatre company after 10 years.
