WORLD THEATRE DAY - MARCH 27TH
Every year the Executive Council of ITI choses an outstanding theatre personality to write the message for World Theatre Day, which is celebrated since 1962 on the 27th of March all over the world. Carlos CELDRAN from Cuba, the outstanding stage director, playwright and theatre educator, has been selected the message for 2019.

DANCE WORKSHOP FOR AN EUROPEAN PROJECT
The contemporary dance performance „Someone from Home" will open this summer, after a series of rehearsals in Linz, Sofia, Timișoara and Novi Sad. The eight dancers casted in „Someone from Home" are currently practicing in Timișoara and invite everybody to a free on Tuesday, March 5th, 9.30 p.m., in the Studio Hall of the Hungarian Theatre to waltz together.

NEW PERFORMANCE - HENRY IV

The "Csiky Gergely" Hungarian State Theatre in Timișoara is staging a famous text written by Luigi Pirandello - „Henry IV" directed by Victor Ioan Frunză, set and costume design by Adriana Grand and music composed by Cári Tibor. The performance will reunite the highly acclaimed director and set designer with the Timisoara theatre company after 10 years.

THE LAST OPENING OF THE YEAR: IBSEN IN A HUNGARIAN-AMERICAN VERSION
Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre in Timisoara ends the year with the opening of "Hedda Gabler", directed by the American Tom Dugdale on the classic play written by Henrik Ibsen. The heroine's tragic end asks questions about responsibility, loneliness and social conventions.

CIPRIAN MARINESCU WILL BE THE CURATOR OF TESZT 2019
Ciprian Marinescu is a journalist, cultural manager and translator for theatre plays written in  German or Romanian. He lives in Germany, Romania and, lately, Mexico. During the past 15 years, he initiated and developed multiple collaborations and festivals in the area of theatre and contemporary dance in Romania and Germany. He has worked for the National Theatre in Timișoara, the contemporary dance company fabrik in Potsdam, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Berlin and HAU Hebbel am Ufer Theatre in Berlin. While working for HAU, he coordinated the residency program Houseclub for artists working with children and young people, while also coordinating projects with schools in five Berlin neighbourhood. Ciprian Marinescu is the curator of the Timișoara Performing Arts Festival, organised by the German Cultural Center, and starting from 2019 he is the curator of the Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara TESZT, organized by the „Csiky Gergely" Hungarian State Theatre.

ON PROPERTY AND RESPONSIBILITY "THE COMMUNE"

The opening night scheduled on the 8th of December at Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre Timișoara opens to a debate about private property and family in today’s society. Its starting point is given by the true case of a group of intellectuals who decide in 1975 to live in a commune, having equal rights and obligations. The text written by Thomas Vintenberg and Mogens Rukov, The Commune was chosen by the director Radu-Alexandru Nica for his second collaboration with the Hungarian Theatre after the success with Scorched.

TALKING WITH RADU-ALEXANDRU NICA: „THE COMMUNE” A GOOD STARTING POINT TO TALK ABOUT FAMILY IN THE 21ST CENTURY AND ABOUT THE CURRENT SOCIETY CRISIS
Radu-Alexandru Nica is working for the second time with our theatre company, for the performance The Commune, opening night: December 8th 2018, after he directed Scorched. This is a good opportunity to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of living in a commune and about the current Romanian theatre.

TWO CONTEMPORARY TEXTS DIRECTED BY THE HUNGARIAN THEATRE'S ACTORS AT THE END OF NOVEMBER
The end of November brings two opening dates: two performace directed by Mátyás Zsolt Imre and by Csábi Anna, actors în our ensemble. The contemporary plays were written by texts Bartis Attila and Jordi Galceran, and have two completely different approaches.
